About this deal

With the character of Gru a prominent fixture in here as himself, I don’t know how this isn’t under the Despicable Me banner as “the early years”, but I don’t make those decisions. Its storytelling isn’t quite as polished as the best in the series but, it strikes many of the right chords, resulting in an entertaining film that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Plagued by COVID delays - it started production just before Illumination closed its doors during the Pandemic - and pushed back two years, it's hardly what might be regarded as 'worth the wait', but it is a more than worthy follow-up to the last Minions outing nonetheless, which is a pleasant surprise considering how much of a waste that prequel was.

For the week that ended on September 10th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Minions: The Rise of Gru topped the Blu-ray only and overall packaged media charts in its debut, knocking Universal's Jurassic World: Dominion, which had been the top seller of the .I wasn't so sure that an entire feature based on them would hold my interest as I see them more as an entertaining add on than central figures.

When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin), Gru interviews to become their newest member. When he receives an invitation to join the Vicious 6 -- the biggest, baddest super villain squad around -- he's over the moon. Calibrated with Calman color calibration software and Portrait Displays C6 HDR2000 colorimeter from Portrait. Whether it is Despicable Me or this Minions banner, you or the children are going for the Minions above all else.

The Rise of Gru features a young Gru (Steve Carrell) trying to make a name for himself, with or without the help of his minions.
