About this deal

However, the B535 has limited settings outside of Bridge mode. e.g. right now I have it on a static IP so I can switch gateways on my network whenever I want, however, as far as I can tell there is no way to set the subnet. The interface is nicer, but it feels limited by comparison. Sometimes after a reset (Power out, rather than a software reboot) it works for a few hours then ends up the same. It’s a simple, plain white rectangular box with some status indicators on the front and a grey band around the edge. It looks fine, and for better or worse it won’t stand out as much as the aforementioned Huawei AI Cube, or even the likes of the Vodafone GigaCube, which is plain too but has a more noticeable tower-like design.

I can't make any comment on their wi-fi performance as I disable this and use access points connected via ethernet.Three has been all over the place - but I think as you say, that is because its such a popular choice for home 4G broadband and its getting overloaded. B535 is running 10.0.2.1 firmware out of the box. It seems to have a better signal without bunny ears.

Ha, don't forget masts on some networks are being updated to MIMO, so you have multiple transmit antenna and multiple receive antenna. Written an 4T4R for example. The newer handsets have this, e.g. your S10 will certainly support. The "cheaper" design home routers will not have provision for this. All things considered, the Huawei B535 is a very solid 4G home broadband router. If that’s all you’re after then it’s competitive with devices from EE and Vodafone, but no match for the new Three 4G Hub. Beyond these, the most obvious alternative is fibre broadband. This is potentially faster (depending on what’s available where you are), but setup is more time consuming and typically requires an engineer visit. You also typically need a landline, which can add to the cost. Plans

So the question is: just how good is the Huawei B535? And should you buy it or should you look elsewhere for your home broadband needs? Read on to find out. Design It has also let me see that it would appear to be SINR in my area that is a problem for me, and I guess why I don't get great speeds. Doesn't seem to matter where I move internal or external antenna, it stays below 10...and fluctuates a lot! So read on to see whether the Huawei B535 is worth hanging on to (or buying in the first place) or whether you’re better off with something different. Design It’s one of two 4G home broadband devices available from the network at the time of writing, but with the other (the Huawei AI Cube) also being a smart speaker, this will likely be the default device for many buyers. If Three's not working for you, can you try perhaps Vodafone? They've got a very stable 4G network that doesn't take quite the bashing. If you've got good signal, it tends to stay alright. I'd stay away from EE for the time being just because they've set up IPv6 on their network in a non-standard way which can cause some things to break.

Maximum size for each attachment is 10MB (rar,jpg,zip,pdf,war,txt,docx,doc,png,mp3,mp4,xls,xlsx,gif,jpeg are supported). When I encrypt the traffic via a VPN. it does seem better to respond. Ping, resolution times decrease, though the overall speed is reduced. Unfortunately this isn't a solution for me, as I use netflix too. The 4GEE Home Router 2 meanwhile matches the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus for speed, and can connect up to 64 devices at once, but it has two (rather than four) ethernet ports. So again, it’s not quite as good as the B535. Press & hold the volume up + The volume down first then press the power button and keep pressing all together. That’s not bad, but you’ll still need a SIM card and allowances to go with it, meaning there will be a monthly price too. Once the update process is successful, your Huawei phone will restart automatically & verify the system image.

That said, this is only an issue for people who plan to make use of more than two ethernet ports – and EE’s network is often faster than Three’s, so it’s a strong alternative for some buyers. Conclusion What's also interesting is that custom band selection gets me better bandwidth than my Samsung S10 as well - even if I stand on my roof next to my external antenna and hold my phone up high... I seem to be in the middle of about 5 towers, which is possibly why I have so many issues, but if you are having similar problems, the analytics on the B535 make it the winner so far - that plus it has a proper bridge mode. The MR600 ran faultlessly for over week while I worked from home - video conferences never dropped. The kids can game on both PS4 with voice chat and the Nintendo Switch which is notoriously fussy given the P2P nature of its online service. I watched Solo on Disney+ which it says is 4K and YouTube usually defaults to 720p. Anyway, sorry this post isn't particularly well structured. I do feel that even though some of the issues I have with the router are also present on my phone, they are to a much lesser degree and perhaps it's not solely a network issue and that perhaps there is something in this being a router issue too, if even only partially. Perhaps this router exacerbates the network issues

Specifications

This slim white rectangle comes in at 219 x 138mm and has a grey stand, slightly contrasting the colour of the box itself. There are a number of small lights along the front, showing you at a glance the router’s status, but that’s about as close as it gets to any kind of design flair. Setup One of the joys of 4G routers is that they’re usually incredibly easy to set up, as is the case with the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus. Happy to answer any other questions. I don't use advanced features, so won't be able to comment on any of those I'm afraid. No provider would be advertising speeds that high - I think what you were seeing were the router specifications not the estimated 4G speeds. The Three 5G Hub meanwhile has them all massively beat for speed – but again, you need 5G coverage to take advantage of that. It also curiously has fewer ethernet ports (just two), which might be an issue for some.
