I found it strange that Gabrielle hadn’t once come back in (she’d rather be indoors), so I went outside to take a look. She has to push really hard to get a little out and then she ends up just using her hands to squish or roll it into a ball. One of the ways we have found helped to get them to play together is by offering them toys and games that they can play together. I could see carrying art supplies in it later on because it's going to need a new purpose soon since the doh in DohVinci is a one time use thing. You have the art studio and can only use it for the 5 pictures that are shown and then it gets tossed in the toy box to rot with the rest of the toys that have been forgotten.

The thing that takes encouragement is to stop the fighting when that develops ;) They're not too bad, but I think all siblings do it! I seem to think its a tad too hard to make anything that actually looks nice but my daughter loves it and that's all that matters.

I knew all of this when I bought it but still purchased because I got it on sale dirt cheap and my daughter really wanted it. You don’t have to ask Emanuelle twice to go play outside, she likes going outside to play… Gabrielle needs a push to get out there. The boards that come with the set are cardboard and I had to push out all of the recessed pieces as they were all still stuck in the boards.

It is very similar to decorating a cake like another reviewer has said, I used it myself and enjoyed playing with it as well. Even though they are almost 4 years apart, we’ve been quite successful in getting them to play together.
The tool is hard to use and the doh does not stick well to the boards so my daughter just ends squeezing the doh onto her fingers and then smearing it onto the boards.
